5 Examples of How Blogs Can Be Used
One of my client’s, Eric Parker from Parker Scheer LLP asked one of my staff members, what were five leading blogs in the industry he could review. They had been chatting about the growing importance of blogs for online PR and writing. Here’s Backbone’s take.
Here are five blogs I think are great examples of how blogs can be used in today's changing Online driven society.
General Motor's blog's are used for direct communication with customers, and are often a backdoor to journalists.
Heather Hamilton is a recruiter for marketing people at Microsoft; she has discovered her blog has helped her build relationships with candidates by providing useful information on how to get hired at Microsoft.
Microsoft's technology blog portal, Channel9 is pushing the blogging and forum envelope by gathering many Microsoft technology product builders in one spot. Using videos, text and pictures, Microsoft is putting a personal face to their business-to-business software products.
Tim Buntel's Macromedia blog reaches out to customers, getting product information out to customers fast, in return Tim gets feedback from customers quickly.
A must for future insights into the tech industry, Dan Gillmor is the leading Journalist in Silicon Valley (formerly with the San Jose Mercury News, Dan is founder of Grassroots Media Inc) he blogs about the changes in the industry.
Blogs are perfect tools for generating content; the holy grail of search engine optimization is generating lots of worthwhile content. Blogging is where the SEO industry is heading.

Nice post. You certainly hit a nerve.
My firm helps employers optimize their corporate sites to drive targeted job seeker traffic, and blogging certainly helps support that objective.
Keep on bloggin'.
