Question: What strategies have been most effective?

All the SEO 101 strategies help but the most effective strategy is something I call a Content Strategy. A simple way to describe it is know your audience and come up with a process for regularly publishing Whitepapers and articles and help documents that are that related to what they’re searching for. This strategy is not easy because it that takes time and energy to continually produce good relevant content. Fortunately that’s one of the areas that we specialize in. We provide our clients with assistance in producing the content strategy.

A way to get around the difficult part of producing new content is to leverage existing content (documents that are already in the normal pipeline). For example, newsletters press releases and existing articles fit the bill. With some minor tweaking a press release can be optimized for specific terms and phrases. A release should be listed on the website with an optimized title and it should also be distributed to the news wire services with a service like PRweb.
